We often drive from Stuttgart to Little Rock after returning our triplet grandchildren to their parents. Sunset scenes reflected in water are stunning and
deserve to be captured on canvas.

This painting was commissioned by a couple has beautifully remodeled their home and added a colorful garden and outdoor pavilion. The brushstrokes in the painting and its title reflect continually emerging beauty.
My Back Yard

It's a joy to look out my studio window in winter. The mountainous hills curve up and down. Stately evergreen trees and bare-branched aspens gather to create quiet drama. I imagine colors that aren't really there, but they would be if I were in charge!

Based on pier in San Clemente, California
California piers are important landmarks in every beach town. A special sunset walk with my son and daughter-in-law inspired this painting. In lieu of painting the pier and pier house, I used embroidery thread for a more interesting dynamic.

These colors remind me of my marvelous, late, 100-year-old aunt, Jane.
Jane knew how to put together marvelous color combinations and did so long before turquoise and tangerine were more commonly accepted.
Jane was inspirational in every way.
The Path
